Referral & earnings disclosure

How Tool Tax makes money, which links pay me, and what that does and doesn't change.

The short version

Which links pay me

These links carry my referral code, so SHIFT credits me if you join through them:

Links to the other tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney and the rest) are plain links to their own pricing pages. No tool vendor pays to be listed, and the order and prices on the site aren't affected by any payment.

What it doesn't change

Earnings

SHIFT's club levels include a member rewards plan that pays members when people they refer buy. That's how I'm paid, and it's open to other members too. Because the calculator mentions it, here is what SHIFT itself says, word for word from the same data the calculator uses:

SHIFT labels its rewards figures illustrative, not actual or projected earnings, and says results vary and may be $0. Read SHIFT's income disclosure.

A median is the middle result: at least half of members earned that amount or less. Don't count on referral income. If SHIFT is worth it to you, it should be for the tools.

The calculator shows a short version of this page next to the "See the full stack" button:
